Grumeti River Camp

We arrived at the Grumeti River Camp to a very nice lunch served river side. Our table had a fine view of some sleepy hippos. Grumeti River Camp was not far from the landing strip and the airplanes would fly in over the camp to land. We must have taken 20 pictures trying to get a good one of them trying to land. The top photo is of a piece of wood in the river that looked like a croc. We spent alot of time (and laughter!)with two other couples trying to get a good picture of a hippo with its mouth wide open. This one was captured by Sue a very nice lady from Australia.

Jeff on the Veranda

Jeff neglected to tell me about the snake that crawled across the veranda until we got back to London and I was about to look at the pictures.

The bed!

Open air shower!

The shower at the rear of the cabin was open to the sky as you can see in the picture.
One afternoon while Jeff was elsewhere I heard a racket coming from the bathroom. Turns out that some monkeys were in there playing around!

Dale and Reuben
Reuben was our butler during our stay at Grumeti. He was the very proud father of two boys who were doing very well in their school. Reuben was a very patient teacher of Swahili. I learned by favourite word from him .... POA!
