a very nice crater view

The Main Lodge

Every evening a very nice Maasi warrior would escort us to our room from these steps. He was protecting us from the animals I think.

It finally warmed up enough to sit outside and have breakfast. You don't get this view with your cereal everyday!

Stork sitting on the chimneys
It was cold at NCL. What an odd sight to see storks sitting on chimneys. At one point I think I saw one on every chimney.

Jeff had a conference call while we were at NCL. Here he is working sitting on the balcony.

There were animals hanging out on the lawns of the lodge. One night we came down the stairs from dinner to find a couple of zebras waiting for us at the bottom! Bob the buffalo was fighting with two other buffaloes and they had to be separated.

A view of the lower NCL camp

As I said before this Lodge was something else! I just have to show you some pictures of the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge today. There were three camps in the lodge and we stayed at the highest (North) with the best views.

It came with a dual control electric blanket.

The chandeliers were strung together by camp workers with Murano glass.

Our first night at NCL was freezing! We had a fire going and I think I wore every article of clothing I brought with me to bed.

We decided that this would go down as the best ever view from toilet. How often do you get a view as nice as this from a toilet? I dont know if you can see the crater in the picture but it is there!

OK, so it is not a shower picture but every afternoon there would be a very hot bath waiting for us when we returned from a game drive. The bathtub faced windows overlooking the crater also. Possibly the best bathtub view ever. There would be rose petals everywhere! Sorry Jeff, I just had to do it!
